Chic Awearness is community of passionate women united by their experiences with ovarian cancer.
For more than a decade, the Chic Awearness community has united to advocate and raise critical funds for ovarian cancer initiatives at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. Thanks to the generosity of supporters like you, Chic Awearness has raised nearly $1.5 million since 2013!
While we will not gather in person this year, the need for support remains urgent! Contributions made through Chic Awearness continue to play a vital role in funding ovarian cancer research and care at Vanderbilt-Ingram. Dr. Cosby Stone, a major Chic Awearness grant recipient states, “Funding from Chic Awearness has been transformational for our research to support women who experience allergic or infusion reactions to their key chemotherapy drugs. We are making their treatments safer and uncovering the mysteries responsible for these reactions.” Essentially, the very drugs that are needed to save a woman’s life are now able to be used to greatly improve her outcome!
Additionally, Chic Awearness funds are providing newly diagnosed women with a “mentor” to help her along her journey. The “Woman to Woman” program has proven invaluable for so many.

Cosby Stone Jr., MD, MPH
Our contributions have supported pivotal research led by Cosby Stone Jr., MD, MPH, who discovered that a significant number of women undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer develop allergies to the very drugs intended to heal them. Recognizing this critical challenge, Dr. Stone is pioneering research to mitigate these allergic reactions, striving to improve treatment outcomes and enhance the quality of life for patients.
Woman to Woman
Chic Awearness proudly introduced the Woman to Woman program to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. This national mentorship initiative pairs ovarian cancer survivors with patients currently battling the disease, offering a unique opportunity for support and guidance. Through this program, we foster a nurturing community where survivors share their experiences, provide emotional support and empower patients with hope and resilience.
